2018 MUNICIPAL ELECTION RENTERS MOBILIZATION CAMPAIGN

VTAG initiated the 2018 Municipal Election Renters Mobilization Campaign (MERM Campaign) in early September 2018 to ensure that people who do not own their homes voted in the municipal elections that took place on October 20th, 2018.  

 

VTAG evaluated incumbents and prospective candidates through a survey that addressed their commitment to advancing the interests of tenants in the Greater Victoria area.

 

Survey results were made public on VTAG’s Facebook page; through public outreach and digital marketing efforts; and emailed to people that signed up for MERM updates on our online membership form.

 

The intention was to provide tenants and tenant advocates the tools needed to make an informed vote during the municipal elections.
